Qatar welcomed the US-Iran agreement, called it a big step towards peace!

The Government of Qatar also welcomed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the US and Iran and described it as a step towards peace, dialogue and regional stability. The Government of Qatar has welcomed the signing by both countries of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to resolve outstanding issues between the US and Iran.
This agreement includes issues like stopping military action and ensuring freedom of movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

“Qatar says this step confirms that both countries are committed to resolving their differences through dialogue and peaceful means. This will enhance the prospects for long-term peace and economic growth in the region and the world,” the Qatari Foreign Ministry said in a post on social media platform ‘X’.

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry has also appreciated the efforts of Pakistan, regional countries and international parties, which helped in reducing tensions and resolving differences between the two sides. These efforts resulted in this agreement.

The ministry said that this agreement is a strong foundation for the next phase of negotiations between the US and Iran. He appealed to all parties to maintain a positive attitude, cooperate in negotiations and work together, so that this process can lead to a lasting and comprehensive solution.

Qatar reiterated that it will continue to support all efforts that enhance regional security and stability. Qatar said it is necessary to solve problems based on dialogue, peaceful means, international law and the principles of good neighborly relations. This will open new avenues of cooperation, development and prosperity and serve the common interests of the people of the region and the world.

In a long press conference held after the G-7 summit in France, Trump several times described this agreement as a major success. He said that this was possible through a combination of both military pressure and diplomacy.

Trump said, “On Sunday we made an agreement with Iran that accomplished all of our goals.”

He said that our main objective was to end the current conflict, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Trump said that if military action had continued, instability in the Gulf region would have increased and global energy markets would also have been affected.
