23rd installment of PM Kisan released, 9.44 crore farmers benefited!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released the 23rd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme during an event organized in Tarakeswar, West Bengal on Saturday. Under this installment, an amount of more than Rs 18,880 crore was sent through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the bank accounts of more than 9.44 crore farmer families across the country.

With the release of the 23rd installment, the total amount distributed to farmers under PM Kisan Yojana has crossed the figure of Rs 4.28 lakh crore. This scheme is considered to be one of the largest DBT schemes in the world, the objective of which is to strengthen the income of farmers by providing them financial assistance.

The Prime Minister said that the Central Government is continuously working for the welfare of farmers and the development of the agricultural sector and efforts are being made to increase the income of farmers by promoting technology and modern agricultural practices.

It is noteworthy that under PM Kisan Yojana, financial assistance of Rs 6,000 is provided every year to eligible farmers. This amount is transferred directly into the bank accounts of farmers in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each at an interval of every four months.

After the release of the 23rd installment, beneficiary farmers can check their payment status by visiting the official website of PM Kisan. For this, farmers will have to click on the ‘Know Your Status’ option available on the portal. Apart from this, farmers can also verify by looking at the entry in their bank account or passbook whether an amount of Rs 2,000 has been deposited in their account or not.

During the program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced several important development projects for West Bengal. These projects include schemes related to railways, roads, fisheries, animal husbandry and agriculture sectors.

The Prime Minister launched projects such as a new railway division, railway hospital, a bridge connecting Howrah and Radhamohanpur, rural roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY-III), fishing harbor at Fraserganj and modern fish market at Birbhum.

The Prime Minister also launched several new schemes during the program to strengthen the agriculture sector, including Digital Agriculture Mission, National Natural Farming Mission and Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana.

The objective of these initiatives is to promote the use of technology in agriculture, encourage natural farming and increase the productivity and income of farmers.
