PM Modi leaves for home after completing successful tour of New Zealand!
He reached the capital Auckland on the last leg of his 6-day official foreign tour. The tour was very successful. 18 major decisions and 10 agreements (MoUs) were signed.
Noting the long-standing friendship, shared democratic values, deep people-to-people ties and shared interests in the Indo-Pacific between India and New Zealand, the two PMs decided to elevate mutual relations to a ‘Strategic Partnership’. They therefore endorsed the ‘India-New Zealand Strategic Partnership: Roadmap to 2030’ as a framework for working together over the next four years.
Both sides agreed to regular visits and meetings between high-level delegations, including during regional and multilateral events.
Both sides agreed to work towards the lofty goal of doubling bilateral trade in goods and services to NZ$7 billion or approximately Rs 35,000 crore by 2030.
On Saturday, PM Modi became a part of many important functions. PM Luxon organized a gala lunch in his honour, and in the evening he became a part of the ‘Kia Ora Modi’ programme. This function of NRIs in honor of PM was very important. During this, PM Luxon appreciated the importance of Indians, their hard work and their role in New Zealand and told how they have a 9 percent stake in growing the country’s economy.
This moment was very emotional and encouraging for PM Modi also. He assured that now it will not take 40 years for the PM of India to arrive. He said, “It has taken 40 years for the Indian PM to come to New Zealand, now you will not have to wait so long. This is Modi’s guarantee and Modi’s guarantee means the guarantee will be fulfilled.”
