It is not easy to remain in a negative character for 12-14 hours: Jayati Bhatia!
TV actress Jayati Bhatia has long been known for her strong acting on the small screen. He has played many different types of characters in his career, but his identity has been strongest in negative roles. These days, she is playing the character of Sharda aka Shalini Batra in the TV show ‘Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile’, which is being liked very much by the audience.
As easy as it may seem to play the role of a villain on screen, actually living it for hours is a big challenge for an artiste. Jayati Bhatia shared this experience. He said that playing a negative character for more than one and a half years has been one of the most challenging experiences of his career.
Sharda alias Shalini Batra’s character in the TV show ‘Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile’ is negative. The actress told that as new twists and turns came in the story, the negative side of Sharda also became stronger. In such a situation, working with the same thoughts and feelings for 12 to 14 hours every day became a big challenge.
She said, “Playing this character for more than a year and a half has been a very special part of my acting journey. With every new episode and every new track, Sharda’s nature has become more cunning, scheming and negative. In such a situation, it is not easy to remain in the same mental state for 12 to 14 hours every day. This character has strengthened my acting level a lot and has given me an opportunity to learn something new every day.”
The actress made it clear that she completely separates herself from the character after the shooting is over. She said, “As soon as the pack-up is done, I leave Sharda on the set and then become Jayati again. This is important for me, so that I do not let my personal life get affected by this character. If the actor does not do this, then playing a negative character continuously can be very mentally tiring.”
Jayati said, “All the actors on the set know very well that Sharda is just a character, I am not like that at all in real life. Behind the camera, we all sit together, laugh, talk and have a good time. This environment also helps me to come out of the stress of my character.”
The actress also opened up on the audience’s reaction. She said, “When the audience gets angry at Sharda or criticizes her actions, I consider it a compliment. It means they have completely accepted me in this character.
