International service started from Navi Mumbai Airport
International service started from Navi Mumbai International Airport on Wednesday, in which Air India Express took the first flight from the airport to Abu Dhabi.
Air India Express operated the first international flight to Abu Dhabi from the airport. The Air India Express flight carrying about 100 passengers departed at 2:55 pm Indian time (IST). It traveled about 2.30 (two and a half hours) and landed at Abu Dhabi Airport in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to the airline, this flight was operated by Air India Express Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft. Before taking off, the pilot of the plane described it as a historic and important journey. The first international consignment of perishable products was also sent with this flight. Air India Express will operate flights to Abu Dhabi three times a week.
It is noteworthy that domestic services started from Navi Mumbai International Airport on December 25, 2025. Navi Mumbai International Airport Limited (NMIAL) is developing this airport in several phases. It is a special unit in which AAHL holds 74 per cent stake, while the remaining stake is held by City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO).
