‘Missing Ladies’ fame Chhaya Kadam completes 20 km ‘Vaari’ journey barefoot!

Actress Chhaya Kadam, who came into limelight with the film ‘Lapata Ladies’, took part in the famous ‘Vari’ pilgrimage of Maharashtra. He covered a distance of about 20 kilometers from Saswad to Jejuri barefoot along with thousands of Warkaris (pilgrims).

The actress has shared glimpses of the trip on her official Instagram account. In the pictures and videos, she is seen in the traditional Maharashtrian attire ‘Nauwari’ saree. She is also wearing a traditional nose ring, choker necklace and yellow tilak on her forehead.

In the video, Chhaya Kadam can be seen walking on the highway towards Jejuri along with thousands of devotees. In another clip, she is seen getting tilak applied on her forehead by a devotee. During the journey, he prayed with folded hands in front of the palanquin and also greeted other Varkaris.

Sharing the post, the actress wrote, “For the second time, I completed Wari from Saswad to Jejuri. Wari and Warkari.”

The annual Pandharpur Wari is the ancient and major annual pilgrimage of the Warkari sect of Maharashtra. In this, lakhs of devotees reach Pandharpur on the occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi, walking on foot with the palanquins of Saint Dnyaneshwar and Saint Tukaram, to have the darshan of Lord Vitthal.

‘Vaari’ means regular or repeated visit to a holy place. This pilgrimage is organized in the month of Ashadha (June-July) and ends on Ashadhi Ekadashi.

Chhaya Kadam is mainly known for her strong acting in Marathi and Hindi films. He started his acting career with theater and later made his mark in films.
