Indian Railways Water Polo team performed brilliantly and won the gold medal in the 79th Senior National Aquatic Championship-2026 held in Chennai. The team brought glory to Indian Railways at the national level by displaying excellent coordination, superb sportsmanship and strong performance throughout the tournament.
According to Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railways, six players of Western Railways played an important role in the gold medal winning team of Indian Railways. These include Ashwini Kumar Kunde, Sarang Vaidya, Shreyas Vaidya, Bhushan Patil, Mandar Bhoir and Aditya Thete. The excellent performance of these players contributed significantly in making Indian Railways the national champion.
Making this achievement even more special, Western Railway player Sarang Vaidya was given the prestigious honor of ‘Best Player’ for his consistent performance throughout the tournament. This honor is being considered as proof of his excellent skills, dedication and commitment towards the game.
Western Railway congratulates the entire Indian Railways Water Polo team on this historic success and is especially proud of the achievement of its six players. Also, the organization wished all the players good luck for future national and international competitions and expressed confidence that they will bring glory to Indian Railways and the country in future also.
