In ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Modi paid emotional tribute to Kargil heroes!
Addressing the 136th episode of the radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the Prime Minister said, “There are some dates in our lives which do not require looking at the calendar to remember. Today, July 26, is one such date. Today is ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’. This day fills us with pride. This day reminds us of the amazing courage of our brave soldiers.”
PM Narendra Modi said that every situation like the high peaks of Kargil, difficult weather and the challenge of the enemy was in front of our soldiers, but their courage was bigger than every challenge. He sacrificed everything to protect Mother India. Today on ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ I respectfully salute all the brave martyrs and brave soldiers.
He said that today’s India not only remembers its heroes but also conveys their story to the new generation. In this spirit, a special ‘Shaurya Vijay Yatra’ has been taken out this year.
He said, “Today, India is continuously strengthening its technical capability along with the courage of its soldiers. A few days ago, INS Mahendragiri was inducted into the Indian Navy. This modern warship has been designed in India, made in India only. More than 75 percent indigenous material has been used in it. It is a symbol of the growing power of self-reliant India.”
PM Modi further said, “In the same month, DRDO also successfully tested Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket. Behind this success is the collective hard work of our scientists and engineers. Just two-three days ago, DRDO also successfully tested Kusha Missile.”
Prime Minister Modi said that today, be it defense production, defense exports or political cooperation with friendly countries, India is continuously moving towards new heights. Earlier this month I was in Indonesia, where a major agreement has been signed for BrahMos and Astra missiles. The world’s confidence in India’s defense equipment and technology is increasing.
Urging the countrymen, PM Modi said that on this ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’, let us salute our immortal martyrs and strengthen our resolve to build a safe, capable and self-reliant India.
