These special trains (Indian Railways Summer Special Trains) will be running on some important routes to facilitate internal travel in Maharashtra. They include Mumbai-Daund-Solapur, Pune-Kolhapur, Nashik Road- Badnera and Hadapsar-Harangal routes. Many special trains will also be available for traveling outside Maharashtra. It includes important routes like Mumbai-Baliya, Mumbai-Gorakhpur, Daund-Kalburgi, Solapur-Kalburgi and Anakapalli. Hence, passengers traveling from Maharashtra to North India as well as Southern states will get great relief.
According to railway officials, this decision will make it easier for passengers to plan their journey in advance. This special service will be important to avoid ticket unavailability or time confusion during the peak summer season. Apart from this, considering the growing passenger demand, the railway administration has also emphasized on improving the services and facilities across its network. Improvements are being made in station management, ticketing system and train scheduling.
The important thing is that the railway administration is now also using modern technology. Artificial Intelligence (AI) based tools are being used to analyze passenger demand, ticket search, waiting list and passenger numbers on various routes. This technology allows railways to understand exactly which routes have more passengers and where additional trains are needed. Accordingly some more special trains can also be started on some routes.
