Umesh Yadav expressed his views on remaining unsold in the mega auction for IPL 2025. He said, 'It was quite shocking for me. I have been playing for the last 15 years. This was definitely quite a shock to me. And why should I lie, I also felt bad. After playing for so many years, it is shocking if you are not selected after playing 150-200 matches.

It is noteworthy that along with this, Umesh Yadav also made his future plans clear to the world. Even though Umesh has not been selected for the upcoming season of IPL, despite this he is in no mood to accept defeat.

He said, 'As long as my body is fine and I feel I can still bowl 140 kph, I will definitely play. The day I feel that I can no longer bowl, I will leave cricket. I don't need anyone to tell me that my time has come, I should do this. I'm not a person who likes to draw things. I myself do not like to play with injuries or in such situations where I cannot give my 100 percent.

It is noteworthy that 37-year-old Umesh Yadav has played in IPL for teams like Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans. Last year i.e. in the year 2024, he became a part of Gujarat Titans for 5.80 crores, after which he played 7 matches in the season and took 8 wickets. Umesh has taken 144 wickets in his name after playing 148 matches in his IPL career. If we talk about his international career, he played 57 Tests, 75 ODIs and 9 T20 Internationals for the country.
