Thanks to the explosive half-century innings of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who recently celebrated his 15th birthday, Rajasthan Royals started their campaign in a good way by defeating Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets with 47 balls to spare in the Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 match here on Monday.

Despite Jamie Overton’s inning of 43 runs in 36 balls, Chennai Super Kings were all out for 127 runs in 19.4 overs. Man of the match Burger, Jofra Archer, Ravindra Jadeja performed brilliant bowling for Rajasthan by taking two wickets each.

Suryavanshi scored 52 runs in 17 balls with the help of four fours and five sixes, due to which Rajasthan Royals achieved the target of 128 runs for victory by losing two wickets in 12.1 overs. This is Rajasthan’s biggest win in terms of balls left in the match.

Suryavanshi gave herself a wonderful gift by completing her half-century in just 15 balls, three days after her 15th birthday. He got good support from Yashasvi Jaiswal. Both of them had almost ensured the team’s victory in the power play by making a partnership of 75 runs in just 38 balls.

Anshul Kamboj took two wickets for Chennai, but it was not enough to stop Rajasthan’s stormy batting. Chasing the target, Suryavanshi, after welcoming Matt Henry with a four and a six, showed his aggressive attitude by hitting another six in his next over.

Continuing his aggressive attitude, he hit a six over long on after hitting fours on consecutive balls of Anshul Kamboj, due to which the team completed 50 runs in the fifth over. Suryavanshi completed his half-century in 15 balls with two consecutive sixes against Noor Ahmed, who came to bowl in the sixth over. This is the second fastest half-century for Rajasthan and the third fastest half-century by an Indian batsman in this league. However, Suryavanshi was caught by Sarfaraz Khan on the ball of Kamboj in the next over.
