After 15 years, a rape case was registered against actor Aditya Panchauli, Bombay High Court gave hearing date of 24th February.

Mumbai The Bombay High Court on Thursday heard a petition by Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi, seeking quashing of the rape case registered against him at Mumbai’s Versova police station in 2019. The actor’s advocate Prashant Patil reiterated the call for cancellation of the petition. Pancholi has been made an accused in this case, but the complainant is a female Bollywood actress. Prashant Patil said that the government advocate appearing on behalf of the police said that despite sending 11 notices by the police, the victim did not appear for investigation. Following this, the Bombay HC issued a fresh notice on Thursday, directing him to appear before it on the next date fixed for February 24.

Let us tell you that the controversy over the FIR registered against actor Aditya Pancholi on June 27, 2019 is going on. The accused claimed that the complaint has been filed almost 15 years after the alleged incident and it has been filed with malafide intentions. Citing the Bhajanlal judgment of the Supreme Court, the petition also sought quashing of the FIR. Prashant Patil told that before the incident a person had met Aditya Pancholi, the recording of which he has. The recording has been presented in the court, in which the wrong intention behind recording it again has been stated. This case is currently pending in the court and the next hearing will be on February 24, 2026. In 2019, Mumbai Police had registered an FIR against Pancholi on alleged rape charges on the complaint of a Bollywood actress. In the complaint lodged at the Versova police station, Pancholi was charged under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 376 (rape), 328 (causing hurt by means of poisoning), 384 (extortion), 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (wrongful confinement), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation). Soon after the FIR was filed, the actor had said that he had been wrongly implicated in the case.
