Dehradun, 13 December. A grand and emotional 157th passing out parade was organized on Saturday at the historic Drill Square of the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun. In this ceremony filled with pride, tradition and military discipline, 559 officer cadets from India and abroad were given commission in the Indian Army.
Ready to face every challenge to protect the country
Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi reviewed the parade on this occasion and inspired the newly appointed officers to move forward on the path of service to the nation. This parade became a living example of the Academy’s motto of ‘Valour and Prudence’. The young officers, who had gone through rigorous training, discipline and indomitable courage, gave the message through their march that they are ready to face every challenge to protect the country.

Getting commission is not just the end of training., but lifelong duty towards the nation, loyalty and loyalty,beginning of selfish service
General Dwivedi in his address said that getting commission in the Army is not just the end of training, but the beginning of lifelong duty, loyalty and selfless service towards the nation. He said that the feeling of ‘every work is in the name of the country’ is the biggest identity of a soldier. The Army Chief appreciated the discipline, leadership abilities and stamina of the young officers and called upon them to carry forward the glorious traditions of the Indian Army.
India’s 525th 14 friendly countries 34 Commission given to officer cadets
A total of 525 Indian officer cadets were awarded commission under the 157th Regular Course, 46th Technical Entry Scheme, 140th Technical Graduate Course, 55th Special Commissioned Officers Course and Territorial Army Online Entrance Exam-2023 course. Along with this, 34 officer cadets from 14 friendly countries will also get commission on this occasion and join the armies of their respective countries. The ceremony strengthens India’s defense leadership as well as military cooperation with friendly nations.

Young officers moving towards their duties with the resolve to serve the country
This dignified parade was witnessed by the proud parents of the cadets, family members, senior military officers and many special guests. The most emotional moment of the parade came when the young officers departed from the academy with the tradition of ‘Antim Paag’ and headed towards their duties with a resolve to serve the country.
Sword of Honor and Gold Medal awarded to ACA Nishkal Dwivedi
Sword of Honor and Gold Medal (First Place in Merit) awarded to ACA Nishkal Dwivedi. Silver medal (second position) went to BUO Badal Yadav and bronze medal (third position) went to SUO Kamaljeet Singh. Officer Cadet Jadhav Sujit Sampat was awarded silver medal for first position in Technical Graduate Course and WCC Abhinav Mehrotra was awarded silver medal for first position in Technical Entry Scheme-46. The silver medal for the Special Commissioned Officers Course was awarded to Officer Cadet Sunil Kumar Chhetri.
JUO Mohammad Safin Ashraf of Bangladesh stands first in the merit of foreign cadets.
The first place medal of merit among foreign cadets was awarded to JUO Mohammad Safin Ashraf of Bangladesh. Imphal Company was awarded the Chief of Army Staff Banner for the best overall performance in Autumn Term-2025.
