On the third day of the first Test here on Saturday, play was suspended due to bad light. Bangladesh was reeling at 158 for 4, chasing a massive 515. India, leading 514 runs overall, declared their second innings at 287 for 4, thanks to consecutive hundreds from Rishabh Pant (109) and Shubman Gill (119).

Responding with statistics of 3 for 63, Ravichandran Ashwin maintained his incredible form after scoring a hundred in the first innings, while captain Najmul Hossain Shanto remained undefeated at 51.
