16 workers from UP, Bihar stranded abroad, employer snatched passport and forced them to live in jail, pleaded for help

Many workers go abroad for work and get stuck there. A similar case has come to light in which 16 Indian workers from UP Bihar are trapped in Libya and are pleading for help. The workers say that they are living in prison-like conditions because they are not being provided any facilities where they work at the Benghazi plant of Libyan Cement Company.

The workers have informed that the work is not done as per the contract by the employer. At the same time, payment for long hours of work is negligible. People say that he was sent to Libya through a contract agent found in Dubai. The accused is a Libyan citizen.

They have been sent to work on tourist visas and their passports have been snatched away in the name of updating. He was also beaten up for refusing to work. According to media reports, at present an Indian community social worker named Tabassum Mansoor is in contact with those workers and is trying to help them.
