A 16-year-old minor girl, whose father works as a laborer to run the house, got a dirty look from a neighbor. The accused not only raped the innocent child but also silenced her by threatening her. This matter came to light when the girl’s health deteriorated and the truth that came out devastated the family.

When the pain became unbearable, the father took him to the doctor for treatment. When the doctors there conducted the medical examination, everyone was stunned to see the report. The girl turned out to be about 6 months pregnant. After this revelation, when the father interrogated her, the victim, crying bitterly, narrated her ordeal and took the name of the accused Amit Verma.

His mother is mentally weak and his father remains outside for labor all day long. Taking advantage of this, 31-year-old Amit Verma, who lives in the neighbourhood, entered the house and raped the girl. The accused is a resident of Chowka Mohalla of Lalitpur and he used to visit the victim’s house a lot. He had threatened to kill her if she told anyone, due to which the frightened teenager remained silent for months.

Police action and arrest Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the victim’s father immediately took her to the Kotwali police station. The police took immediate action on the father’s complaint. Kotwali police station in-charge Vidyasagar Singh said that a case has been registered against accused Amit Verma under POCSO Act and other serious sections. The police showed promptness and arrested the accused and sent him to jail and further investigation of the case is underway.
