1,650 flights, ₹610 crore refund and 3,000 bags reached home

IndiGo: For the past few days, IndiGo Airlines flights were continuously deteriorating due to technical problems and operational glitches. But now the airline seems to be slowly getting back on track. According to the Civil Aviation Ministry, a total of 1,650 flights are expected to operate by Sunday. While only 706 flights operated on Friday, this number increased to 1,565 on Saturday.

Big relief to passengers – Refund of ₹610 crore issued

After the government order, IndiGo has shown speed and has so far returned refunds of ₹ 610 crore to the passengers. This refund has been given to all those passengers whose flights were canceled or delayed. Not only this, the airline has also found 3,000 lost bags of passengers and transported them to their homes. This step has given great relief to troubled passengers.

CEO’s message – “We will return stronger”

CEO of IndiGo peter albers sent an email to employees explaining the situation and assuring them that the airline would emerge stronger from these difficult times. He told that the airline On-Time Performance (OTP) Which had fallen to just 30% on Saturday, has increased about 75% But has reached.
This improvement shows that the airline has put in a lot of hard work in the backend.

Government’s strict stance – order for refund and bag delivery within 48 hours

When the situation started worsening, the Central Government showed strictness and ordered all the airlines to:

  • To all canceled/delayed passengers Full refund within 48 hours be given
  • Passengers whose bags are missing bags delivered to home

The government also warned that action would be taken if the order is not followed.

Fare Break – Government imposed Fare Caps

Taking advantage of IndiGo’s glitch, other airlines had sent ticket prices skyrocketing. Arbitrary fares were being charged from many passengers. The government then immediately intervened and fixed fares according to distance:

  • Up to 500 km – ₹7,500
  • 500–1,000 km – ₹12,000
  • 1,000–1,500 km – ₹15,000
  • 1,500+ km – ₹18,000

Now airlines cannot charge fares higher than this.
