17 miscreants carrying BJP flag came to capture land worth Rs 37 crore, arrested with weapons

A conspiracy to grab land worth crores in Bihar’s capital Patna failed. STF and Ramakrishnanagar police station took major action. 17 miscreants who had come to take possession of disputed land worth Rs 37 crore were arrested. The notorious gang leader Shailesh Mukhiya of Saran fled from the spot. All the criminals had come with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) flag in their car.

 

This disputed land is on the main road of Bairia Bus Stand. DSP Sadar-2 is located just opposite to the government office of Ranjan Kumar. According to local property dealers, the price of one katha of land here is around Rs 1 crore. The mafia had targeted 37 katha land. Its total market value is estimated to be around Rs 37 crore.

Police had already received input. On the instructions of Shailesh Mukhiya, the shooters had reached Patna with heavy weapons. Their aim was to forcibly take over the land. There was fear of gang war and bloodshed during the occupation. STF and Ramakrishnanagar police immediately laid siege. Local people have also heaved a sigh of relief due to this action of the police.

Action taken in two phases

In the first phase, the police arrested 10 main accused from the spot. After this the caught criminals were interrogated. On his information, 7 more accused were arrested. The raids took place at different locations in Patna. A total of 17 miscreants were caught by the police. The arrested criminals are residents of different districts.

 

The main leader of this entire gang is Shailesh Mukhiya, a resident of Dighwara, Saran. He is a notorious criminal. He escaped from the spot by dodging the police. According to the police, all the miscreants had come to Patna with weapons only on the instructions of Shailesh. Raids are going on for his arrest in Saran and Patna. Investigation revealed that Shailesh had made a land agreement with a local woman. The woman was lured with a small amount but it is being investigated whether the woman is the real owner or not. City SP Purvi Shailaja said that a thorough investigation of the documents is being done.

Weapons and vehicles recovered

Police recovered 4 pistols and 11 live cartridges from the spot. Many vehicles have also been seized. The documents of the vehicles are also being checked. Police officials said that if timely action was not taken, a major incident could have happened. There was bound to be a bloody conflict between the two groups during the land grab. Due to the promptness of STF, land worth Rs 37 crore was saved.
