Indian team announced for Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Shami-Akshar out, 3 young players get a chance

Team India squad for Border Gavaskar Trophy announced: 18-member Team India has been announced for the Border-Gavaskar series of 5 test matches against Australia. Fast bowler Mohammed Shami, all-rounder Akshar Patel and spinner Kuldeep Yadav have not got a place in the Team India squad captained by Rohit Sharma. Jasprit Bumrah has been retained as vice-captain.

These young players get a chance

Abhimanyu Easwaran, Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Prasidh Krishna have been given a chance for this series of 5 test matches. Abhimanyu has been scoring runs continuously in domestic cricket, which has benefited him and he has been included in the team as the third opener. While Nitish Reddy, who gave a memorable performance during the Bangladesh series, has also been given a chance, the famous Krishna has returned after a long time.

KL Rahul managed to save place

KL Rahul has been dropped from the second test of the ongoing series against New Zealand. After this decision, there was talk of his being out of the Australia series but considering his experience, BCCI has retained him in the team. Two wicketkeepers have been selected in the team in the form of Dhruv Jurel and Rishabh Pant.

Apart from captain Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan are part of the team. This will be Sarfaraz Khan's first foreign tour with Team India. Experienced Ravindra Jadeja and young Washington Sundar have got a chance as all-rounders.

These bowlers get a chance

In this Test series, there is R Ashwin as a complete spinner who will get the support of Jadeja and Sundar. Along with Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Akashdeep, Prasidh, Harshit Rana are there as fast bowlers.
