18 new bridges will be built in UP, great news for these 4 districts
Lucknow. The UP government has approved the construction of 18 new mini bridges in Devipatan division, which will provide great relief to the people of Gonda, Balrampur, Bahraich and Shravasti districts. This decision has been taken under the 2025-26 action plan of the Public Works Department.
Budget and construction plan
The government has approved a total budget of more than Rs 42 crore for the construction of these 18 bridges. 5 bridges will be built in Gonda district, 4 bridges in Balrampur, 7 bridges in Bahraich and 2 bridges in Shravasti. With the construction of these bridges, the movement of lakhs of people in rural areas will be easy and safe.
Major bridges and their features
1.Gonda District: A mini bridge will be constructed on Bisuhi river in Gram Panchayat Chahalwa, the estimated cost of which is Rs 9.69 crore. This bridge will reduce the problems of waterlogging and traffic during rains to a great extent.
2.Balrampur District: A bridge will be constructed from Kanjahipurwa link road to Virwaghat Mahantapurwa Ahiran Purwa, the cost of which is estimated at Rs 4.69 crore.
3.Bahraich District: A new mini bridge will be built in place of the narrow culvert on the Babaganj-Mallihpur road at a cost of Rs 1.16 crore. This will eliminate the problem of people having to travel through the old route.
4. Shravasti District: Two bridges will be built, which will make transportation in local rural areas more convenient and safe.
Importance of bridge construction
Construction of these mini bridges will not only ease the everyday travel of the villagers, but will also reduce waterlogging and accidents during rainy season. Keeping in view the demands raised by the villagers for a long time, the government has given priority to these projects.
