180 Tejas will join Indian Air Force fleet

New Delhi: The Indian Air Force (IAF) can get 97 additional Tejas MK1A fighter aircraft. The deal by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) will prove to be an important step to further increase the strength of the Indian Air Force. Tejas MK1A is an important example of Indian defense production, which forwards the country's efforts towards self -sufficiency under the 'Make in India' initiative.

Total fleet of 180 aircraft.

The Indian Air Force already has an order of 83 Tejas MK1A aircraft, which costs more than Rs 48,000 crore. Now, 97 additional aircraft are expected to order, making the total fleet of these aircraft to 180 aircraft. The cost of this new order is estimated to be more than Rs 67,000 crore. This will make a significant increase in the Indian Air Force fleet and the aircraft will further strengthen the strategic capabilities of the Indian Air Force.

Tejas MK1A fighter aircraft design has been made several improvements. Its anti-radiation missiles, state-of-the-art electronic warfare (EW) system, better avionics and high-speed capacity make it a great fighter aircraft. This aircraft is completely based on indigenous technology, which is not only a major jump towards the self -sufficiency of the defense industry, but will also give India a strong place in the International Defense Market.

Increase in strength of Indian Air Force

Tejas MK1A aircraft joining the Air Force will strengthen India's defense power. Increasing the size of the fleet of these aircraft will increase the battlefield of the Air Force. The aircraft will be able to combat any nefarious act with rival powers like China and Pakistan on the border. Tejas will enable the Multi-Rol capacity of MK1A, high speed, and competent weapons to deal with the Air Force with ground and air strikes.

'Make in India' and self -reliance

Promoting indigenous defense production is one of the priorities of the Government of India. Several steps are being taken to empower the Indian defense industry under the 'Make in India' initiative. Tejas MK1A is a part of the production process of the aircraft, the path of self -sufficiency in the field of defense production of India is open. HAL has already strengthened its supply chain and also increased cooperation with suppliers across the country to do no obstruction in the required materials and equipment supply.
