England announced the team for Under-19 World Cup, this player was made captain

Now all the eyes of English fans will be on Rave to see how the English team performs under his captaincy in the tournaments to be held in Zimbabwe and Namibia. Meanwhile, Farhan Ahmed, brother of England international Rehan Ahmed, has also been included in the squad for the tournament to be held from January 15 to February 6. Farhan captained the U19 team in the absence of Rave in the recent seven-match Youth ODI series against West Indies.

He is also the vice-captain. Left-arm spinner Ali Farooq has got a place in the team for the first time. U19 head coach Michael Yardy believes the young English side have a fairly balanced squad, with players who have formed good friendships while playing together in age-group matches. Yardi said: “This is a great opportunity for our selected players to not only wear the England jersey at the World Cup, but also to go out and try to do something special.”

Speaking further, he said, “We have a balanced squad with a core group of players who already have county experience and who have formed good friendships playing together for the U19s which will serve them well during the tournament. I want the players to enjoy the opportunity of playing the World Cup in a beautiful country like Zimbabwe and embrace the opportunity to compete against different countries and showcase their quality.”

Let us tell you that England U19 team has been placed in Group C along with Scotland, Zimbabwe and Pakistan. The English team will begin their campaign against Pakistan in Harare on Friday, January 16, after which they will face co-hosts Zimbabwe and Scotland. A total of 16 teams will participate in the tournament. Three teams from the group stage will qualify for the next round.
