’19 minute viral video’, which was among the most searched topics in India last week, has now become more mysterious. This MMS clip, which allegedly shows private, intimate moments of Bengali influencer Sofik SK and his girlfriend Sonali, has sparked rumors that the video could be an AI-generated hoax.
Media reports quoting police sources have claimed that the viral clip was allegedly made with AI. Also, people have been warned that interfering in someone’s private life and sharing fake or AI-generated content on social media is wrong.
“The 19-minute viral video is AI generated,” a police officer was quoted as saying. He warned netizens that sharing such explicit MMS clips could lead to legal action under the IT Act.
“Sharing someone’s private, fake or AI-generated videos can lead to legal action under sections 67, 67A and 66, which can attract jail and heavy fines. Violating someone’s privacy and sharing explicit videos without consent is an offence,” the official added.
