A video is going viral on social media in which two people are beating a young man with sticks in front of policemen. Users are claiming that this video is of the boy who was seen in the MMS couple video, and the girl is roaming free while the boy is being punished.
Old video, related to Gujarat riots
Fact Check revealed that this claim is false. The video is old and completely unrelated to the MMS couple. It went viral again in March 2025 when BJP leader Vishnu Vardhan Reddy linked it to the Ahmedabad riots. There 20 people attacked people with hockey sticks and knives, 14 were arrested, including a minor.

Ahmedabad Police caught the rioters, illegal houses of six were demolished. Deputy Commissioner Baldev Desai did not say anything on the video, but reports suggest that when the main accused did not cooperate, he was beaten with sticks. Heavy police deployment was made in the area before Holi.
What is MMS couple video?
MMS means Multimedia Messaging Service, which is an old way of sending photos and videos. This 19-minute video of an intimate scene of a couple went viral on social media. People started searching for the boy and girl, influencer Sweet Jannat faced false allegations which she rejected.

Some say that the video may be old or AI generated, this also increases the risk of scam and blackmail. Memes were made, but these MMS were not related to the beating video. Fact-check clearly says – both are separate incidents.
