19 year old youth arrested in case of gold jewelery theft, 4 gold bracelets recovered

The team of Ghazipur police station of Police Commissionerate, Lucknow has arrested an accused who stole gold jewelery from the house in a planned manner. The accused, with the help of his co-accused (who is absconding), had stolen 04 gold bangles, 02 gold earrings and 01 gold mangalsutra from the house of the complainant. Police have recovered 04 gold bracelets from the possession of the accused, while the search for the absconding female accused is going on.

According to Police Commissionerate, Lucknow, Ghazipur police station police team arrested Harshit Yadav (son of Virendra Yadav, native of village Satai Purva Rani Bazar, district Gonda) on March 11 on the basis of secret information. Harshit (aged about 19 years) currently lived in a rented house D-27 located in Sector-E, Thana Mahanagar, Lucknow. 04 gold bracelets have been recovered from his possession.

Complainant Shyam Chandra Awasthi (son Ganesh Prasad Manas Vihar, Sarvodaya Nagar, Lucknow) gave an application on March 10 and said that on January 9, 04 gold bracelets, 02 gold earrings and 01 gold mangalsutra were stolen from his house. The thief had given the stolen goods to his friend Harshit Yadav, who was avoiding returning the goods for many days. On the complaint, a case was registered in Ghazipur police station under BNS. Later section 61(2)/317(2) BNS was also added.

Arrested accused Harshit Yadav revealed during interrogation that about two months ago, his acquaintance Srishti Dubey alias Vaishnavi Dubey (who lives in the same locality as complainant Shyam Chandra Awasthi) informed him about the presence of gold jewelery in the house. Both of them together planned the theft. There was no one in Shyam Chandra’s house that day. Srishti Dubey stole things from the house and handed it over to Harshit. Harshit got 04 bangles and 01 mangalsutra, while Srishti Dubey kept 02 earrings. Harshit sold the mangalsutra to a person walking on the road.

Police are now searching for absconding Srishti Dubey. Necessary legal action is being taken against accused Harshit Yadav. His criminal history is also being investigated.
Police Commissioner Lucknow has praised the team for this successful action and has appealed to the general public to be alert for their safety and property. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
