Smriti Mandhana and Renuka Singh shine in Team India's victory, crush West Indies Women by 211 runs

Indian Women defeated West Indies Women by 211 runs in the first match of the three-match ODI series with the help of brilliant performances from Smriti Mandhana and Renuka Thakur Singh. In the first ODI match being played at Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara, West Indies won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Batting first, India scored 314 runs losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Opener Smriti Mandhana scored the most runs for the team. He scored a half-century of 91 runs in 102 balls with the help of 13 fours. Harleen Deol played an inning of 44 runs in 50 balls with the help of 2 fours and a six. Debutant Pratika Rawal played an inning of 40 runs in 69 balls with the help of 4 fours.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur played an inning of 34 runs in 23 balls with the help of 3 fours and a six. Jemimah Rodrigues played an inning of 31 runs in 19 balls with the help of 3 fours and a six. Mandhana and Rawal added 110(140) runs for the first wicket. Harmanpreet and Harleen added 66(52) runs for the third wicket. Mandhana and Harleen added 50(52) runs for the second wicket. For West Indies, Zaida James took the maximum of 5 wickets. Captain Hayley Mathews got 2 wickets and Deandra Dottin got one wicket.

West Indies Women, chasing the target, collapsed on the score of 103 in 26.2 overs. Afi Fletcher scored the most runs for West Indies. He contributed 24* runs in 22 balls with the help of 3 fours. Shamine Campbell contributed 21 runs in 39 balls with the help of 2 fours. Alia Allen scored 13 runs in 23 balls with the help of 2 fours. Renuka Thakur Singh took maximum 5 wickets for India. This is his first 5 wicket haul in ODI. Priya Mishra got 2 wickets. One wicket each went to the account of Titas Sadhu and Deepti Sharma.
