Bangladesh scored 158 runs for 4 wickets by the end of the third day, still 357 runs away from defeating Team India

India vs Bangladesh 1st Test Day 3 Highlights: Bangladesh cricket team has scored 158 runs at the loss of 4 wickets in the second innings till the end of the third day of the first test match being played against India at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Bangladesh team is still 357 runs away from the target of victory.

Due to poor light, the umpires decided to end the third day's play early. At the end of the day, captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto remained unbeaten on 51 runs and Shakib Al Hasan remained unbeaten on 5 runs. Opening batsmen Shadban Islam and Zakir Hasan gave Bangladesh a good start in the second innings and together they added 62 runs for the first wicket. Islam scored 35 runs in 68 balls while Hasan scored 33 runs in 47 balls.

So far in the second innings for India, Ravichandran Ashwin has taken 3 wickets and Jasprit Bumrah has taken 1 wicket.

Earlier, on the strength of Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant, the Indian team declared the first innings at 287 for the loss of 4 wickets and gave Bangladesh a huge target of 515 runs due to the lead of 227 runs in the first innings. Gill scored an unbeaten 119 runs (10 fours and 4 sixes) in 176 balls, while Pant scored 109 runs (13 fours and 4 sixes) in 128 balls.

For Bangladesh, Mehdi Hasan Miraz took 2 wickets in the first innings, Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana took 1 wicket each.

After being invited to bat first, India got off to a bad start but India scored 376 runs in the first innings, in which apart from Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja scored 86 runs and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 56 runs. In response to which, Bangladesh was all out for 149 runs in the first innings.
