Firing in Iran's Supreme Court, two judges who sentenced them to death were killed

Tehran: A shocking case has come to light from Iran, where a person opened fire in the Supreme Court. Two judges died in this attack. It was told by the Supreme Court spokesperson that both the judges were killed after entering their room. A judge has also been injured in this attack. According to reports, judges Ali Rajini and Moghiseh, who were killed in the attack, often gave death sentences. For this reason he was called Hangman.

Both the judges were hearing cases of national security, terrorism and espionage in the Supreme Court. During this, the attacker suddenly fired and committed suicide. Apart from the death of two judges, one judge was injured and a bodyguard was injured in this attack. According to news reports, the attack took place at 10.45 am local time. He was among the senior judges of the Iranian judiciary.

According to reports, the attacker was an employee of the Justice Department. According to Iran International, many people have been arrested from the court house in Tehran. Officials said an investigation has begun to find out the motive behind the attack. An earlier attempt to murder Judge Rajini was made in 1988. At that time an attempt was made to kill him by planting a bomb in his bike. According to the US Treasury Department, the US had banned the second judge Moghiseh in 2019.

It is noteworthy that Iran is the country with the highest number of executions in the world. In the year 2024, 901 people were sentenced to death. These include 31 women. Last year, in one week of December, 40 people were sentenced to death.
