Bumrah’s number one crown in Test is in danger, Tilak Verma’s entry in top-3 in T-20

Cummins recently made a brilliant comeback in the third Test of the Ashes series against England. In this match played in Adelaide, he gave an excellent performance of 6/117, taking three wickets each in both the innings. Under his leadership, Australia won the test by 82 runs and took an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series. The impact of this strong performance was clearly visible on the ranking as well.

After his brilliant bowling in the Ashes Test, Cummins has moved up four places to reach second place in the Test bowling rankings. He now has 849 rating points in his account, leaving him only 30 points behind Bumrah. With this bounce, he left his fellow fast bowler Mitchell Starc behind. The dominance of Australian players was also seen in the Test batting rankings. Travis Head has jumped four places to share third place with 815 points, where he is joint with Steve Smith.

Talking about T-20 International ranking, Jasprit Bumrah has also improved in this format. After an economical spell of 2/17 in the fifth T20I against South Africa, he jumped 10 places to joint 18th position with Mahish Theekshana with 622 points. At the same time, India’s young star Tilak Verma is continuously progressing in the batting rankings. He has moved up one place to third place in the list of T20I batsmen. Verma was the leading run-scorer in the recent five-match series against South Africa. He scored 187 runs in four innings, which included two half-centuries.

In the last match played in Ahmedabad, his inning of 73 runs in 42 balls took India to a big score of 231. At present, Abhishek Sharma remains at the top position in this list with 908 points.
