There is a lot of uproar in the Cricket Association of Puducherry. The head coach of the Under-19 team was attacked by three local cricketers on Monday. Due to this, the coach got 20 stitches on his head and his shoulder was fractured. FIR has been registered after this matter in the police station.

Cricket coach attacked in Puducherry

Cricket Association of Puducherry’s under-19 head coach S Venkataraman was attacked in anger by three players. According to the report of Indian Express, these players were very disappointed at not getting a place in the squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Former CAP Secretary Venkataraman suffered serious head injury and also broke his shoulder due to this attack.

This incident is said to have happened at 11 am on Monday, when three players attacked the coach in the CAP Complex. FIR was registered at Sedarpet police station. Sub-Inspector R Rajesh confirmed that the coach suffered serious head injuries but his condition is better than before.

What did S Venkataraman say in the complaint?

In the complaint lodged with the police, S Venkataraman gave the names of three attackers. He registered the names of senior player Karthikeyan Jayasundaram, first class players A Aravindaraj and S Santosh Kumaran. He accused G Chandran, secretary of Bharathidasan Puducherry Cricketers Forum, of instigating these three. It was told in the complaint that after not being selected in the T20 squad, the three players stopped the coach.

S Venkataraman told that the three had attacked him with the intention of killing him. While attacking, three players were saying that Chandran had told them that they would get a chance only if they did not kill Venkataraman. Bharathidasan Puducherry Cricketers Forum has termed these allegations as false.
