2007 T20 World Cup won with collective efforts but it was not possible without Yuvraj: Sreesanth

Former fast bowler of the Indian cricket team, S Sreesanth believes that the victory in the 2007 T20 World Cup was achieved due to the collective efforts of everyone, but even after this, I believe that if all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was not there, it would not have been possible to win. According to him, it was not possible to win the title without Yuvraj. Then the Indian team had won the World Cup even before this format. India's title match was with Pakistan where the Indian team won under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. In this exciting and exciting match, the players made united efforts due to which the Indian team won this first title.

Sreesanth said that the victory was achieved with the cooperation of everyone in the team and also I think that Dhoni was the captain but if Yuvraj was not there then it would not have been possible to win. That's why we didn't win the World Cup just because of Dhoni. His captaincy was good, but it has to be remembered that there was a family atmosphere in the entire team. The entire management was with us. We did not win the World Cup because of any one person. In the same edition, Yuvraj had hit six sixes in a single over of Stuart Broad against England in the group stage. At one point in the final match, Pakistan came close to victory. Then Dhoni took a big risk by giving the ball to Joginder Sharma in the last over. With Misbah-ul-Haq on strike, Pakistan's victory was considered certain, but Misbah scooped the ball and Sreesanth caught it, giving victory to the Indian team. Sreesanth said on this that yes, I had taken the last catch and before that I had caught Afridi. I took the ninth wicket of Sohail Tanvir with a yorker. So it felt good. It was a big opportunity for India to play and win the World Cup.
