2026 Hyundai Verna Facelift: First Detailed Video Of New Car
Hyundai soft-launched the facelifted Verna earlier this week. The mid-life update has given the sedan notable styling changes and in-cabin updates. The trim nomenclature has also changed on the new model. It is available in six trims- HX2, HX4, HX6, HX6+, HX8 and HX10. These sit in the price bracket of Rs 10.98 lakh- Rs 18.25 lakh, ex-showroom. What appears to be the first in-depth video of the new Verna has now surfaced online, showing the HX8 variant in detail. Interestingly, this also happens to be the variant that offers the maximum value for the price.
Hyundai Verna HX8 On Video
First things first. HX8 is the penultimate variant. Above it sits the fully-loaded HX10. The HX8 can be had with four engine-transmission combinations- 1.5 naturally aspirated petrol (115hp and 144Nm) with manual and iVT automatic transmissions and the more powerful, 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine (158hp and 253Nm) with manual and DCT automatic gearboxes. The variant seen in this video has the turbo-petrol engine with manual gearbox.
This video shows the design changes on the facelifted Verna, in detail. The biggest of these is in the front fascia. It now looks sharper, sportier and more aggressive than before. The grille has grown in size and gets a more interesting design. The vehicle in this video is finished in White, making it easy for us to spot the changes. A total of seven colour options are available on the facelift, including two new shades- Classy Blue and Titan Grey Matte.

The headlamps have been redesigned and are now projector LED units. The indicator lamps get an interesting design and have halogen bulbs inside. The full-width LED light bar (positioning lamp) has been retained. The front bumper is also new.

The silhouette remains almost untouched. We can, however, spot a new set of alloy wheels. Not much has changed at the rear. On the HX8 trim, manual Turbo variants get rear drums while automatic Turbo variants feature four disc brakes.

At the rear, we can see the prominent spoiler, LED tail lamps, and a slightly tweaked rear bumper. The rear bumper now gets the Silver accents and a restyled diffuser-like portion. The car also gets a smart trunk release which lets you use the key to open the boot. The facelifted Verna has a boot capacity of 528 litres.
Interior Design And Features

After showing the exterior details, the host moves inside and shows us the cabin. The HX8 trim offers good kit levels. The overall quality and fit and finish seem great. Most of the dashboard design seems unchanged from the pre-facelift. The new car, however, gets Hyundai’s new-age steering wheel with Morse code logo.
The feature list is quite comprehensive. The trim gets integrated dashcam, connected car features, 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, 8-speaker BOSE premium audio system, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, rain-sensing wipers, rear sunshades, electrochromic inside rearview mirror, electric sunroof, wireless charger, and ambient lighting. Level 2 ADAS can be had on the Turbo automatic variants.

Another change is in the ventilation function. The front seats on the pre-facelift model used to offer both heating and ventilation functions. The new model offers just the latter. This trim misses out on features like 360-degree camera, blind spot monitor, powered co-driver’s seat, and the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

The host also gets into the rear seat and shows the space on offer there. The rear seat on this trim gets two adjustable headrests and a central armrest and feature leatherette upholstery.

On the safety front, this trim gets six airbags, ABS, EBD, electronic stability control, hill start assist, front and rear parking sensors, and more. The HX8 trim sits in the Rs 14.88 lakh- 17.62 lakh bracket with its ex-showroom prices.
