New Delhi: The MG Majestor is poised to prove itself as a highly valuable vehicle. We can expect to witness tremendous excitement among customers regarding this car. It was first showcased at the Auto Expo—not in January of this year, but at the 2025 edition, where it made a stunning debut. Why did it take so long for this model—which appears to be a substantial facelift of the Gloster—to finally arrive in the market?

In reality, there is far more to the Majestor than meets the eye. Significant efforts have been made to substantially enhance its off-road capabilities through the aid of advanced hardware and software. Visually, the car already looks quite rugged from the outside; however, the interior is even more luxurious, and it comes packed with an expanded list of features. Is it, finally, capable enough to dethrone the renowned Toyota Fortuner? We set out to answer this question by taking it for a brief spin—both on and off the road.
2026 MG Majestor Review: A Closer Look
A single glance at the Majestor’s design makes it immediately clear which vehicle it is officially based upon. From the front, MG has done an excellent job of giving it a more commanding and muscular appearance. The Gloster’s previously rounded, bulbous design is now a thing of the past; in its place, the vehicle now sports an upright front fascia and a flat, sculpted bonnet.
The design features a distinctly flat bonnet. Where the Gloster previously housed its main headlights, the Majestor now features sleek Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs) that resemble stylized “eyebrows.” To create a unique light signature, vertical DRLs have also been integrated into the large front grille. The actual headlights consist of triple-beam units mounted lower down within the bumper assembly. Notably, the vehicle does not come equipped with separate fog lights.
A Distinctive Vehicle
Black cladding extends across the wheel arches and runs along the lower sections of the doors. The window trim, mirror caps, and roof all feature a glossy black finish, adding to the vehicle’s premium and sporty aesthetic. The wheels measure 19 inches—the same size as those on the Gloster. The wheel design is new, and on our test vehicles, they are fitted with chunky all-terrain tyres.
The design is fresh, and our test cars feature these wheels paired with substantial all-terrain tyres. Given the sheer size of this massive SUV, however, these wheels do appear somewhat undersized. The rear section is also very well-designed, featuring a sleek, full-width LED light bar.
Majestor: Interior Space and Comfort Highlights
Inside the Majestor, there has been a significant upgrade in material quality. This is particularly evident on the new dashboard, which incorporates soft-touch materials, contrast stitching, and aluminium-look trim accents. This same design treatment extends to the new door cards as well.
A highly authentic-looking trim piece with a carbon-fibre finish has been incorporated. Additionally, the interior features ambient lighting. The gear selector has now been relocated to the steering column.
