2026 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Launched At Rs 1.25 Lakh: What Has Changed?
TVS Motor Company has rolled out the 2026 update for the Apache RTR 160 4V. The updated streetfighter range now features two additional variants and brings key premium features further down the pricing ladder. With an ex-showroom starting price of Rs 1.25 lakh, the brand is aiming to strengthen its hold in the 160cc segment by offering better value to buyers who do not want to stretch their budget for the top spec model.
The most notable change for the 2026 model year is the wider availability of specific hardware. TVS has now equipped more variants with a Class D projector headlamp, which is integrated with LED daytime running lights. This setup gives the motorcycle a sharper front profile and improves night time illumination compared to the older reflector-based LED units. The lighting package across these models is now fully LED, including the turn indicators.
Beyond lighting, the company has expanded the availability of its assist and slipper clutch. Previously reserved for the most expensive variants, this feature is now accessible to a broader set of buyers. A slipper clutch reduces the effort required to pull the clutch lever in heavy city traffic and prevents the rear wheel from locking up or skipping during rapid downshifts. For commuters navigating daily congestion, this mechanical addition translates to less rider fatigue.

While the feature list has grown, the core mechanical package remains untouched. The 2026 Apache RTR 160 4V continues to use the proven 159.7cc, single cylinder, oil cooled engine.
The BS6 Phase 2 compliant motor pushes out 17.55 horsepower at 9,250 rpm and 14.73 Nm of peak torque at 7,250 rpm. These numbers keep it at the sharp end of its class in terms of outright acceleration. It is paired with a standard five speed gearbox.

The motorcycle also retains its multiple riding modes, a system that alters throttle response and ABS intervention depending on the selected setting. The suspension hardware, comprising telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock, is carried over without any structural changes. The braking setup continues to feature petal discs, with single channel or dual channel ABS options depending on the exact variant chosen.

At Rs 1.25 lakh, the updated Apache RTR 160 4V sits squarely against its primary rivals. The 160cc commuter segment is highly active, with capable alternatives like the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar N160 offering strong equipment lists of their own. The Xtreme 160R 4V is priced at around Rs 1.31 lakh and offers similar four valve engine performance, while the Pulsar N160 focuses heavily on low end torque and standard dual channel ABS safety.
The Apache RTR series has consistently been a strong volume driver for the manufacturer, and these targeted updates are designed to maintain that sales momentum. By adding the projector headlamp and slipper clutch to lower trims, TVS has ensured that buyers get essential functional upgrades without being forced to buy the highest variant. This strategy spreads the value across the line-up. The updated 2026 range is already arriving at dealerships, giving the motorcycle fresh momentum as the new financial year begins.
