Is Akshar Patel out of the T20 series against South Africa? Big update came out

India has suffered a possible setback amid the five-match T20 series being played against South Africa. According to the report of Sports Tak, experienced spin all-rounder Akshar Patel has been ruled out of the remaining two matches of the series due to illness. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet officially confirmed this news nor has his replacement been announced.

Akshar Patel was a part of Team India in the first two matches of the series and he contributed with both bat and ball. In the first T20, he bowled a brilliant spell of 2/7, while in the second match he recorded figures of 1/27. Even in batting, he scored 23 and 21 runs respectively. His bowling spell in the first match became an important reason for India’s huge victory of 101 runs.

Akshar Patel was not a part of the team in the third T20 match played in Dharamshala. In his place, Kuldeep Yadav was included in the playing eleven, who along with Varun Chakraborty controlled South Africa’s batting. After this, India achieved the target easily and took a 2-1 lead in the series.

According to the report, Axar Patel will no longer be available in the remaining matches of the series. The fourth T20 match is to be played on 17th December at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, where with victory, India can win the series.

In Akshar’s absence, Washington Sundar can be an important option for Team India. At the same time, there is doubt regarding the availability of Jasprit Bumrah, who returned home on December 14 due to personal reasons. There is no update yet from the board on his return.
