Only 21 year old player created a stir in Ranji Trophy, staked claim in Team India by taking 9 wickets
Ranji Trophy: The sixth phase of India's prestigious domestic red ball tournament Ranji Trophy 2024/25 has started today i.e. from Thursday. Many veteran players of Team India including Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant are participating in this phase. However, among these senior players, a 21-year-old youth won everyone's hearts with his performance. He single-handedly stunned the opposition team by taking 9 wickets in the innings.

In fact, in the match being played between Uttarakhand and Gujarat in Group B of Ranji Trophy 2024/25, a 21-year-old player has staked his claim for a place in Team India with his excellent bowling. Gujarat's young spinner Siddharth Desai used such magic of his spin that 9 batsmen from Uttarakhand were trapped one after the other. Due to his brilliant performance, Uttarakhand collapsed after scoring just 111 runs in its first innings.
Siddharth Desai bowled 15 overs, spent runs at an economy of just 2.40 and took 9 wickets. His lethal bowling was such that 8 batsmen from Uttarakhand could not even touch double figures. Vishal Jaiswal got the remaining one wicket for Gujarat. Whereas, Shashwat Dangwal scored the most runs for Uttarakhand. He remained unbeaten after scoring 35 runs. If Shashwat had got support from the other end, he could have played a big innings also. Apart from him, Avnish Sudha also contributed 30 runs.

Gujarat took lead in the competition
After bowling out Uttarakhand for just 111 runs, thanks to the brilliant bowling of Siddharth Desai, Gujarat batsmen showed a brilliant performance. By the end of the day, they have scored 190/4 in their first innings and are ahead in the match by 79 runs. Urvil Patel scored a brilliant 53 runs, while Manan Hingrajiya remained unbeaten on 66 and Jaymeet Patel on 29 runs.
