In many states of the country, this festival is celebrated with the name of 'Kharva Saud'. Married Hindu women celebrate this festival by fasting so that their husbands can live a long and healthy life. This year the festival of Karwa Saud is being celebrated across the country today. Usually during the festival there is huge sale of most of the items like puja materials, clothes, jewellery, especially red colored glass and plastic bangles, fruits and dry fruits.

Besides, applying mehndi on hands and feet has also become a separate business. Similarly, during the Karva Saud festival of 2023, sales worth Rs 15 thousand crore were made. This year this amount is expected to increase to Rs 22 thousand crores. It seems that goods worth Rs 4 thousand crore will be sold in Delhi alone. Traders say that this will continue to boost economic activities in the country.

In this regard, BJP MP from Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha constituency of Delhi, K. Praveen Khande Wole said that business activities usually increase during the festive season. At the same time, Prime Minister Modi is continuously creating awareness about the importance of local products. People have appreciated it a lot. Therefore, the inclination of consumers to make purchases this year will increase during the festival of Karva Saud. Although Garwa Saud is celebrated by women, in recent years men also participate along with their wives. Therefore, they also buy their essential things including new clothes during this festival. This has increased sales.
