India’s telecom revolution led by Jio 5G
The competition of 5G technology in the Indian telecom sector is now clear. Jio has connected customers to its network at the fastest speed, making it the largest 5G service provider in the country.
23 crore customers connected with Jio 5G
According to a recent CLSA report, Jio has migrated more than 23 crore customers to its 5G network. Nearly half of the company’s total 500 million mobile users are currently availing 5G services, putting it ahead of all Indian operators and making it the undisputed leader in the sector.
Jio-Airtel’s dominance, 81% market share
Jio and Airtel together have added more than 40 crore 5G customers. At present, the combined revenue share of these two companies has reached 81%. This means that the growth of the Indian mobile data market is mainly going into the hands of these giant companies, in which Jio has the strongest position.
91% smartphone users 5G enabled
The demand for 5G smartphones in the country has reached its peak. According to recent data, 91% of smartphone users are now using 5G devices. This is why Jio and Airtel are getting help in attracting new customers faster, which is also strengthening the network expansion.
Jio’s dominance in home internet
Jio has also gained prominence in the home internet service sector. The company is serving 2.3 crore home broadband customers so far, of which 95 lakh customers are using JioAirFiber (5G FWA). Jio aims to reach 10 crore homes through JioFiber and JioAirFiber. Currently, only 4.5 crore homes out of approximately 30 crore homes in India have wired broadband, which means Jio has incredible potential in this segment.
