24 year old Shahzeb Bhatti said goodbye to Pakistan cricket, accused of corruption and politics
New Delhi. Young Pakistani cricketer Shahzeb Bhatti of Pakistan cricket has said goodbye to the game at the age of just 24. This Sialkot player has cited corruption in Pakistan cricket, politics and lack of domestic structure as the main reasons behind his decision. His move has surprised the cricket world.
Shahzeb Bhatti made his announcement on social media. they wrote,
“Goodbye Pakistan cricket. At the age of 24, I am leaving Pakistan cricket. I won the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final last year on live television. Since then I have been benched continuously for almost 40 games. My only dream was to represent Pakistan, but politics, corruption and lack of structure ruined my career. Now I know why everyone is leaving Pakistan cricket.”

Shahzeb made an important contribution on behalf of Sialkot Region in the final of Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2024-25. He scored unbeaten 32 runs in a thrilling match against Peshawar Region and led the team to a thrilling victory by one wicket. Despite this, after this he was kept out of the team for 40 consecutive matches.
Shahzeb Bhatti has so far played only two first-class matches, one List A match and one T20 match in the domestic circuit of Pakistan. He has 5 wickets to his name in red-ball cricket, 2 wickets in List A and 1 wicket in the only T20 match. He never got a chance in Pakistan Super League (PSL).
