Announcement of ward reservation in Ranchi Municipal Corporation and Bundu Nagar Panchayat
Ranchi: After the approval of the State Election Commission, Ranchi District Administration has released the gazette of reservation of wards for Ranchi Municipal Corporation and Bundu Nagar Panchayat. With the release of the gazette, preparations for the civic elections have formally begun. According to sources, the election date is likely to be announced in mid-January.
Ward Reservation of Ranchi Municipal Corporation
Reservation has been arranged in a total of 53 wards in Ranchi Municipal Corporation area. Of these, 27 wards have been kept for the general category. 2 wards have been reserved for Scheduled Castes, 4 for Backward Classes and 9 for Extremely Backward Classes. A total of 25 wards are reserved for women.
Ward Reservation of Bundu Nagar Panchayat
Out of 13 wards of Bundu Nagar Panchayat, 6 wards have been reserved. These include 2 wards for Scheduled Caste, 2 for Scheduled Tribe, 1 for Backward Class and 1 for Extremely Backward Class. Here 5 wards will be reserved for women. It is noteworthy that this is the second time after 2008 that civic elections will be conducted through ballot paper.
