25 year old bowler out of ODI and T20 series, replacement player announced
Desk. The New Zealand team has to start its Bangladesh tour from next week, in which it has to play a series of three ODIs and three T20 matches against the host team there. The three-match ODI series to be played on this tour is going to be very important for both the teams keeping in mind the 2027 ODI World Cup, in which Bangladesh will be eyeing to improve its ranking, so that it can be successful in making its place directly for the mega tournament. New Zealand had announced their squad long ago for both the ODI and T20 series on this tour, in which they have now made a change.
New Zealand had included fast bowling all-rounder Christian Clarke for the ODI and T20 series against Bangladesh, but he is now out of the squad due to injury. In the statement issued by New Zealand Cricket regarding Christian Clarke, they said that while fielding during the second ODI match against Sri Lanka-A team, Christian Clarke had injured the webbing between the fingers of his right hand while trying to take a catch, due to which he has now withdrawn from the Bangladesh tour.
With the exclusion of Christian Clarke, New Zealand Cricket has also announced the name of the replacement player in his place, in which Ben Lister has been included. Talking about Lister, so far he has played 4 ODI and 11 T20 International matches for New Zealand, in which he played his last international match in the month of April 2024. New Zealand has to start this tour with a series of three ODI matches from April 17, the first two matches of which will be played in the stadium of Dhaka while the third match will be played in the stadium of Chattogram. There will be a series of three T20 matches between the two teams from April 27 and the first two matches will be played in Chattogram while the last match will be played in the stadium of Dhaka.
