126 people died due to severe floods and landslides in Philippines, Typhoon Trami caused devastation

Talisay: Typhoon Trami has caused devastation in the Philippines. Tropical storm Trami has caused natural disasters like severe floods and landslides here. At least 126 people have died due to this. While many people have gone missing. The President of the Philippines said on Saturday that due to the natural disaster, many areas have become difficult to reach due to which people are stuck there.

At least 85 people were killed and 41 others were missing as Typhoon Trami struck the Philippines from the northwest on Friday, the government's disaster-response agency had earlier said. It is the deadliest and most destructive storm to hit the Southeast Asian archipelago so far this year.

The death toll from the storm has risen to at least 126 and several more people are missing, officials said. The agency said that the death toll is likely to increase further due to floods and landslides caused by the storm. Police, firefighters and other emergency personnel are engaged in relief and rescue operations in the affected areas of the Philippines.

President Ferdinand Marcos on Saturday inspected the area south-east of Manila badly hit by Typhoon Trami. During this time, he said that due to the storm, there was unusually heavy rain and there are some areas where in just 24 hours, there was so much rain which happens in one to two months. The government agency said that more than 50 lakh people have been affected by incidents related to tropical storm 'Trami'. (agency)
