Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani congratulated Skyroot Aerospace on the successful orbital launch of Vikram-1 on Saturday. He said that this historic mission marks the beginning of a new era for India’s private space industry and is a true example of the spirit of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.

In a post on social media platform X, Gautam Adani said, “The first successful orbital flight of Vikram-1 and the achievement of all mission objectives is a historic achievement for India’s fast-growing private space ecosystem.

Adani said, “Congratulations to Pawan Chandna, Bharat Dhaka, the excellent team at Skyroot Aerospace, as well as ISRO and In-Space for making this mission possible. Vikram-1 has successfully accomplished all mission objectives on its maiden orbital flight, ushering in a new era for India’s private space sector. History has been made. Describing the campaign as a symbol of India’s self-reliance, he said the feat showcased the country’s growing technological prowess and innovative power to the world. He said, “The average age of this team is only 28 years. This is a proof to the world of what young India can achieve. Jai Hind!”

On Saturday morning, Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace successfully launched Vikram-1 as part of ‘Mission Arrival’. With this, India has become the third country in the world, after the US and China, where a private company has successfully demonstrated the capability to launch a rocket into orbit. Father of India’s space program Dr. Named after Vikram Sarabhai, the four-stage Vikram-1 launch vehicle is designed to provide fast and on-demand launch services for small satellites.

The mission is considered a significant step towards strengthening India’s position in the global commercial launch market. The nearly seven-story tall rocket was sent to reach an altitude of about 450 km into Low Earth Orbit (LEO). With this successful launch, India has joined the select group of countries where private companies have successfully demonstrated orbital launch capabilities.
