Raipur: Four people, including three government school teachers, were arrested on Tuesday for raping a 17-year-old girl in Chhattisgarh's Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district. This information was provided by the police Police officials said the girl was allegedly raped twice on November 15 and 22 in Janakpur police station area. A case in this regard was registered on Tuesday based on the complaint of the victim.

Police said those arrested have been identified as Ashok Kumar Kushwaha and Kushal Singh Parihar, two teachers of Government Higher Secondary School, Devgarh, Ravendra Singh Kushwaha, headmaster of Government Primary School, Devgarh, and forest department employee Banwari Singh.

Officials said that according to the complaint, on November 15, accused Ravendra took a Class 11 student of another government school in his car to Kushal's house on the pretext of helping her in studies, where another accused and Ashok were already present.

According to him, all three allegedly took turns to rape the girl and the accused also recorded the act on their mobile phones. After this, the victim was threatened that if he told anyone about the incident, they would post it on social media. He said the three accused blackmailed the girl and raped her again on November 22 at a rented house in Banwari. Banwari had allegedly supported him in this crime.

Officials said that the girl was scared after the threat, but later she gathered courage and informed her parents about the incident. After which a complaint was lodged in this regard on Tuesday. Police officials said a case has been registered against the four accused under sections of the Indian Justice Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act. The case is being investigated. Officials said that the three accused teachers have been suspended.
