331 Hindu families displaced from Bangladesh found shelter in Lakhimpur, families settled in four villages of three tehsils.

Lucknow, Read: On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, 331 Hindu families who were displaced from Bangladesh have been settled in various tehsils of Lakhimpur Kheri district and have been given the basis of permanent life. These families have been rehabilitated in four villages of Dhaurahara, Mohammadi and Gola tehsil, where they are now permanently residing.

According to the administration, 97 families have been settled in Sujanpur village of Dhaurahara tehsil, 41 families have been settled in Mohanpur grant of Mohammadi tehsil and 156 families have been settled in Miyanpur, while 37 families have been provided accommodation in grant number-3 of Gola tehsil. To make these families self-reliant, agricultural land has also been allotted. In Gola tehsil about 3 acres of land was given per family, while in Sujanpur families received an average of 0.607 to 1.620 hectares of land. In Mohammadi tehsil, families have been given land lease of 3 to 7 acres. Whereas in Miyanpur, each family has been given an average of 4.75 acres of land, from which they are earning their livelihood through farming.

These families have been linked not only with land but also with various schemes of the Central and State Government. Eligible families are getting the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Kisan Samman Nidhi, Ujjwala Yojana, Kisan Credit Card, Chief Minister Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme, Pension Schemes and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. Apart from this, basic facilities have also been provided in the villages under ration distribution, vaccination, MNREGA, mid-day meal, Swachh Bharat Mission and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.

District Magistrate Durga Shakti Nagpal said that all 331 families have been systematically settled and they are being given full benefits of government schemes along with agricultural land, so that they can live a self-reliant life.
