348 players including Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah are on NADA’s radar, what is the whole matter?
A big news has come from outside the playing field for Indian cricket’s star wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and experienced fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has released its latest Registered Testing Pool (RTP) list for the second quarter of 2026. A total of 348 athletes have been included in this list, in which the names of Abhishek and Akshar have been included prominently.
The inclusion of names in the RTP list means that now these players will have to remain under the strict surveillance of NADA. According to the rules, these athletes will have to share information about their availability and exact location every day for doping testing. If a player is found absent during the stipulated window then he is considered to be in violation of the rules. This step of NADA is an important process towards keeping sports completely clean and drug-free.

What is the ‘Wearabouts’ rule and the punishment for violating it?
The rules for players included in NADA’s registered testing pool are quite strict. They have to be informed in advance through an app or portal as to what time of the day and at which place they will be available. If an athlete fails to report his location three times a year or fails to attend testing, it is considered an ‘anti-doping violation’. For this the player can even be banned. This time a total of 14 names from the cricket world are in this list, including Abhishek Sharma, Arshdeep Singh, Akshar Patel, Deepti Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Jemimah Rodrigues, KL Rahul, Renuka Singh Thakur, Rishabh Pant, Shefali Verma, Shubman Gill, Tilak N Verma and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Keep a close eye on other sports too
Athletics has the highest participation in this new list of NADA. While in the last quarter there were 118 athletes from athletics, now this number has increased to 134. It includes names like Avinash Sable, Jyoti Yaraji and Tejaswin Shankar. Apart from this, players of wrestling (31 names) and boxing (22 names) are also being kept under close watch. Hockey team captain Harmanpreet Singh and women’s team captain Salima Tete have also been made part of this pool.

Keep an eye on Olympic medal winners too
Keeping in view the upcoming big tournaments, NADA has especially kept Olympic medal winners and world champions on the radar. Veterans like badminton star PV Sindhu, boxer Nikhat Zareen, Lovlina Borgohain and wrestler Aman Sehrawat will also have to share their location. NADA aims to ensure that Indian athletes meet international standards and perform without any malpractices.
