New Delhi: Aditya Dhar directed film Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is releasing in theaters tomorrow on 19 March 2026. Paid previews of this action thriller starring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt have started from today, but the discussion is hot after the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) report came out. The film has received an ‘A’ certificate but its runtime in India is about 6 minutes less than the foreign version.

The makers had submitted the film of about 3 hours 51 minutes to CBFC. The board cut an additional 1.3 minutes, leaving the runtime in India at 3 hours 49 minutes 36 seconds. The foreign version is approximately 3 hours 55 minutes long. According to the report, CBFC suggested a total of 21 changes, out of which 4 major changes were related to extreme violence visuals.

Apart from these, changes like muting or changing abusive words, trimming some other small violent moments and adding disclaimers related to drugs were also made. Demonetization dates corrected in subtitle and one place "Lahore" To "Delhi" Was changed from. The makers had also submitted official permission to use references and news footage of the Prime Minister in the film.

Netizens’ reaction

Many users on social media raised questions as to why the action sequences were cut despite having an ‘A’ rating. One user wrote, “Has the censor board come to edit the film or the mind of the audience?” The other said, “We have grown up, let us decide ourselves.” Some even raised questions on the very existence of the board.

Dhurandhar movie details

Actually, the first film Dhurandhar was released in December 2025 and it created history by becoming the highest grossing film of the year. Ranveer Singh will be seen in two roles (Jaskirat and Hamza) in the sequel. There is a tremendous atmosphere of revenge and high-octane action in the trailer.

More than Rs 40 crore has been earned in advance booking of paid preview, while lakhs of tickets have been sold for the first day of March 19. The audience is now eager to see this shorter version in the theatre.
