This was the first fifty of his international career, which he completed in just 18 balls.

Became the youngest batsman to score an international fifty

With this innings, Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest batsman to score a half-century in international cricket. He broke the record of Nepal’s Kushal Malla, who scored his first international fifty at the age of 15 years 340 days. Whereas in third place in this list is Lewis Bruce of Gibraltar, who scored his first half-century in international cricket at the age of 16 years and 56 days.

Talking about ICC Full Member teams, Vaibhav left behind Sachin Tendulkar’s record. Sachin scored his first international half-century at the age of 16 years 213 days, while Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi achieved this feat at the age of 16 years 214 days.
