Josh Hazlewood dedicated his man of the match to him
Josh Hazlewood destroyed the batting line-up of Delhi Capitals in the beginning. In his very first over, he showed the path of 2 batsmen to the pavilion in 2 balls, while in the first 3 overs, he took 3 wickets, while in the fourth over, he took 1 wicket.
Apart from Josh Hazlewood, Bhuvneshwar Kumar also bowled brilliantly. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 3 wickets giving just 5 runs in 3 overs. Josh Hazlewood gave him credit for his brilliant performance, saying that
“Probably coming out on the field after scoring more than 500 runs, that’s not the expectation. I just followed Bhuvi. There was a little help in the first six overs. The ball was moving a little bit up and down. As soon as the ball became soft, it became stable. You want the batsman to hit shots in a V shape, but I felt there was something in that part of the wicket, then I thought of hitting the pitch. The ball hit the top of the bat, it was good to see.”
Josh Hazlewood expressed his displeasure about this while taking the Player of the Match award.
Josh Hazlewood got 4 wickets, but he regrets not bowling full 4 overs. Josh Hazlewood took 4 wickets for 12 runs in 3.3 overs, talking about which he said that
“It would have been nice to bowl four overs and walk off the field (laughs), but we are performing well in every way. Last year in the away matches we had assessed the conditions well, now at the right time of the tournament we are getting into our rhythm.”
