Neither Shreyas nor Russell nor Starc! KKR is going to retain only these 4 players

Before the mega auction of IPL 2025, a big news related to the current champion Kolkata Knight Riders is coming out. In fact, according to media reports, it is believed that the KKR franchise is going to retain only four players before the mega auction, which does not include captain Shreyas Iyer, star all-rounder Andre Russell and lethal fast bowler Mitchell Starc.

According to the reports of ESPN Cricinfo, the players whom Kolkata Knight Riders want to retain include the names of Caribbean all-rounder Sunil Narine, explosive middle order batsman Rinku Singh, lethal spinner Varun Chakraborty and young uncapped pacer Harshit Rana.

Apart from this, KKR can also retain another uncapped player Ramandeep Singh. However, if this happens then they will have only one RTM card left during the mega auction. If we talk about Shreyas Iyer, under his leadership the Knight Riders won the champion title last season, however, despite this, the franchise seems to be in no mood to stop him.

Last season, they had given place to Mitchell Starc in their team by paying a huge amount of Rs 24.75 crores, but his performance was not special due to which the management has decided to release him.

It is worth noting that even though according to the reports, KKR is releasing Andre Russell, it is possible that during the mega auction, the Knight Riders team may once again add him using the RTM card. Last season, he scored 222 runs at a strike rate of 185 in 9 innings of 15 matches for KKR and also took 19 wickets. In such a situation, she would not want to leave them easily. In such a situation, it will be very interesting to see whether the current champion KKR is able to field a strong squad once again or not.
